Prior to the Covid restrictions period (March 2020 – June 2020) the business employed a number of casual hairdressers utilizing most of the 9 styling stations. Given the uncertainty caused by Covid outbreaks, when normal trading resumed in July 2020 the owner decided not to re-engage the previous staff but rather to continue operating the business herself until she could be confident of no further lockdowns. The business has operated successfully and profitably under the scaled down Covid model since July 2020. Although restrictions have now been removed and there is demand for additional hairdressers, the owner has decided not to pursue this but rather to leave that decision to a new motivated owner.
Therefore, a new owner has the option to continue trading profitably on their own or to progressively return the business to pre-Covid trading levels by directly employing new stylists (renting out the chairs) and by extending the current trading hours from 5 days to 6 or 7 days per week.
