Online Party Shop & Kids Party Planning Business For Sale


This business has been running solidly since 2008 and is made up of two separate websites/businesses that are run together. You could separate them or just run the party shop and no longer organise the kids parties, but they do currently provide cross over marketing/sales opportunities/referrals to each other.

  1. Online party shop – over 40 themes and 2,000 products including decorations, cake accessories, edible cake toppers, tableware, party bags, party favours, party games, craft activities, costumes and pinatas.
  2. Party planning – entertainers, cakes, catering and themed party packages on the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane and Gold Coast.

Annual turnover is more than $100,000 with the online party shop sales averaging $4,500 per month, with organic online marketing only, i.e. no adwords or online advertising or any print media. Party bookings average around 10 per month, with revenue of approximately $4,000 per month, again with no advertising other than the website, a few online directories and word of mouth.

Other revenue streams include cake toppers (printed in house), fairy floss machine hire, mascot costume hire, party hire (mainly tables and chairs) and commission from bookings for face painters, jumping castles, cakes, catering, etc.

The sale includes approximately $15,000 worth of stock for the online shop (wholesale value) and $15,000 worth of party equipment, with approx. $2,000 worth of shelving for both. The stock and the majority of the party equipment is stored on the Sunshine Coast with the remainder being held with two party hosts in Brisbane. They have most of what they need to do each party with the rest of the supplies they need being couriered to them each week.

There is the option for a vehicle to be included which has business signage across the back and side windows. It's a 2014 Kia sorento (manual), with approx 230,000 on the clock.

I work in the business approximately 20-25 hours a week Monday to Friday doing everything from taking enquiries and coordinating party bookings to ordering stock, packing and sending orders, packing and sending suppliers for parties to the hosts and marketing, e.g. social media.

All the ground work has been done for you ready to sit back and run as is, or expand and grow with additional advertising and marketing and/or additional revenue streams:

  • Websites with established 1300 number (easy to transfer to any landline)
  • SEO (search engine optimisation research and implementation)
  • Social media – pinterest (approx 1,000 followers) , facebook (approx 1,200 followers), youtube, blog & newsletter
  • Policies & procedures – everything has been meticulously documented
  • Dedicated, reliable and professional party hosts
  • Stock inventory – easy uploading system & two main suppliers with online ordering
  • Partnerships with other party professionals from cake makers and caterers to other entertainment providers
